Moreton Bay Technology was established in Sydney in the year 1990 when it released its first Purchasing and Materials Management software specifically for the hospitality Industry. For over 21 years MBT has continually responded to client requirements to enhance the best practice functionality of CHECK.

Moreton Bay Technology (MBT) is unique in an industry of continual and significant consolidation. The company is still owned and operated by the founder Alec To. The original developer of CHECK, Alec and a select core of developers have remained with the company over the years to retain a unique knowledge and understanding that enables MBT to deliver solutions very rapidly.

Over the years hospitality management groups have recognized the need to make the procurement even more efficient, less costly and to take greater advantage of their scale. eProcurement portals began to mushroom in the 90’s and MBT began to focus on delivering a global solution that could connect all sites of a group and support group and central purchasing. In 2002 the first clients went live with CHECK Group Acquisition Management solution and continue to enjoy the benefits of the group solution to date.

By 2004 MBT had release CHECK Supply Chain Management (SCM) web-based solution, flexible and scalable to support both individual sites (hotels, restaurants) but also the largest hotel and catering groups in the world. CHECK SCM was redesigned from the ground up as a system that can handle multiple properties, while at the same time carry through the familiar and proven concepts of the prior three generations of the CHECK system. With SCM, CHECK is positioned as a Supply Chain Management solution for chains with large number of geographically distributed business units.

With a myriad of systems available to the Hospitality industry, CHECK is uniquely designed to simplify the complex tasks of supply chain and materials management by breaking down the tasks and making it easy to logically delegate work across the operation. This frees the Supply Chain/Purchasing Manager to concentrate on the supply chain strategy, best practice procedures and negotiation.

MBT’s flexible attitude and CHECK’s rich and flexible functionality continually meet the unique requirements of clients around the world. Unlike most solutions, MBT also delivers enhancements as part of implementation projects to ensure that every client get’s started with a solution that satisfies requirements.
